Results of the Midterm Elections and the Impact on Federal & Washington Tax Policy

David Zaudtke, CPA/PFS, JD, CFP®, is Director of Wealth Management and Partner-in-Charge of the Minneapolis office of Eide Bailly LLP.  He is a member of the firm's National Tax Office team, which focuses on helping clients stay informed about tax news, developments and trends.  Mr. Zaudtke will concentrate his remarks on the impact of the mid-term elections on federal tax policy, including consideration of post-election legislation impacting tax extenders for 2014 and prospects for tax reform in the new Congress.


Lisa Brown, PhD, is chancellor of Washington State University Spokane and is the former majority leader of the Washington Senate.  Prior to joining WSU in 2013, she served in the Washington legislature for more than 20 years in both the state House of Representatives as well as the Senate.  Ms. Brown will relay her personal views of the impact of the mid-term elections on Washington state tax policy, including consideration of the recent Washington Supreme Court's holding of the state legislature in contempt for not making enough progress toward fully funding public education in the state.
