This webinar will discuss personal insurance planning for affluent families across high valued homes, autos, and collections including fine art.

Included will be recommendations on managing liability of employing domestic staff, serving on non-profit boards and how to evaluate limits of personal liability insurance.

The presenters will provide examples of listening for risk in client discussions and the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to annual risk and insurance planning especially for property owned in LLCs or Trusts.

The discussion will include an overview of personal insurance markets and insight on why policy premiums are increasing along with non-renewals across the United States.

A family insurance review case study will be used to illustrate the importance of integrating personal insurance into annual estate planning discussions, including insurance planning for young adults who are renting their first apartment, buying their first home or auto.

Linda guides generational families through a holistic risk assessment to help them align risk exposures with insurance strategy. This includes experience advising family office and private trust company boards on directors and officers liability, and evaluating insurance for complex family holdings held in trusts, LLC’s and partnerships. She recently contributed chapters on family risk management in the Globe Law & Business book “Family Offices: The STEP Handbook for Advisors” and in the book Wealth of Wisdom: Top Practices for Wealthy Families and Their Advisors” published by Wiley.

Linda holds an MBA from Babson College, and BA from California State University at Long Beach. She serves as Faculty and Risk Management Domain Chair at the Ultra High Net Worth Institute.  She is a Fellow of the Family Firm Institute and member of Collaboration for Family Flourishing.
